March 10 & 11~Ten Steps to Federal Employment ~ 1:30pm - 4:30pm ~ A&FRC ~ This is a two-day class.  Learn the ins and outs of navigating the Federal job system.  Learn how to prepare the right resume format, targeting the correct job title and grade.  Participants are encouraged to bring a Federal job vacancy announcement of their interest.  Call 759-6020 to enroll.


March 10~Self Defense ~ 6:30pm – 8:30pm ~ Fitness Center ~ Understanding why people victimize others is not within our complete ability to understand; empowering those who seek to have the advantage if ever confronted by an aggressor or aggressors is.  Learn basic self -defense techniques to protect yourself.  Be sure to wear comfortable clothing.  Call 759-6023 for more information.

 
March 11~Boss and Buddy ~4pm – 5pm in the Storm Cellar ~ Come celebrate the end of another successful week with your co-workers.  Great food and drink specials, designated drivers drink FREE soda all night.  Stay from 5-6 for free bar snacks and a Club card Drawing.  Boss & Buddy is on the 2nd Friday of the month. March 12~March Madness 12 hour Scrapbooking Crop – 9am – 9pm ~Dole Center Ballroom ~ Enjoy a day of scrapbooking, make-n-take projects, games, prizes as well as lunch and dinner.  Make-N-Takes will be taught by Stampin' Up!® Independent Demonstrator Julie Ward.  Make-n-take projects are limited; so sign up early and purchase your tickets at the Community Center office.  Feel free to bring a snack to share with the group.  Beverages provided by the CAC.  Reserve your spot at the Community Center Office: just $10 in advance or $15 at the door.  Cash or checks only please.  Call 759-6023 for more information.

 
March 12~Basic Sewing Class ~ 10am – 4pm ~ Arts & Crafts Center ~ Class is held the second Saturday of each month. Basic sewing is an introduction to sewing techniques beginning with fabric preparation and constructing garments using commercial patterns. March 16, 17 & 18~Transition Seminar (TAP) ~7:30am – 4:30pm ~ A&FRC ~ This seminar is designed to provide people with tools necessary to make the transition from military to civilian life.  Participants will gain valuable information on Veteran’s benefits, a rough draft of a civilian resume, and various aspects of finding a job.  Participants are encouraged to wear civilian clothes (Business Casual). March 16~McConnell Job Fair ~ 10am – 2pm ~ Dole Community Center Ballroom ~ Don’t miss the Annual McConnell Job Fair where we will be hosting over 60 companies.  This job fair is open to active duty, military retirees, civil service employees, and their dependents.  This is a free event.  Make sure you come prepared with your résumés, as some companies will do on the spot interviews.  Call 759-6020 for more information.
March 16~Quarter Mania ~ 6pm – 9pm~Signature Lounge  ~ Doors open at 6pm and “bidding” starts at 7pm. Paddles are $3 each or $5 for two. Cash or checks only please.  Bid on quality vendor items with 1 to 4 quarters, depending on the retail value.  Once all bids are placed, a randomly chosen number is called.  If the person with that number placed a bid, he or she wins the item.  Numbers will continue to be drawn until there is a winner.
